First was the Pachesham G1-5 Winter Series on 12th January. It was a very cold morning and the ground was still frozen when we started walking the courses. Pachesham had done a great job to be able to run the show following the dreadful weather which had flooded their indoor school. The two rings for this show were held outside but as usual the show was run with great efficiency.
We started on the Jumping - the course was interesting but I had a plan - unfortunately I hadn't taken into account the draw of a jump from the tunnel, not the jump we needed to take! Before I knew it she had taken the jump and we were E'd! The two agility courses were OK but our usual challenge with contacts caused us to have faults. Finally the Steeplechase - I was feeling quite good about it and Pepper was flying, but we seemed to reach the end so quickly that I convinced myself I was taking the wrong course and pulled her off a jump that she should have taken! I'm so annoyed with myself - Pepper did a stunning round and I messed it up!
We then did the Scrambles Winter Series on 19th January. Again, they had done a great job to be able to hold the show while so many other venues are flooded! There were some interesting courses and we managed a clear in Jumping and 2nd in Steeplechase. I was particularly pleased with the Steeplechase as Pepper flew and followed every direction perfectly!
Here she is with her latest two rosettes:
