After the recent issue we have had with contacts at shows I decided to chill out and just see what happened, knowing that I had a 3 day UKA show next month that would enable me to address the contacts there. She stopped on each down plank rather than in the 2 on 2 off position that she should have been in but it meant that we got every contact and the rest just flowed!
The rest of the day was quite mixed! Our first run was G1-4 Jumping and we were E'd on a tricky box after 12 weaves - I just couldn't get to the right place to make sure she got across the box - she stopped and span round and then back jumped!
Our second was a G1-2 Jumping, it was a great course but again, I couldn't quite get where I needed to be for the final 3 jumps and had to try to rear cross, but I mis-timed it and we got 5 faults. We were still placed 4th so I'm really pleased but it's highlighted the need to train 12 weaves more so that I can trust her to be more independent.
Our other run was the G1-7 Tunnels and Jumps - with 52 dogs in the class I was delighted that Pepper came 5th.
Our friend Mandy came along for the day with her daughter Elli and their lovely puppy, Dora. She had a great day out meeting lots of new people and it was great to have a friend there when I picked up my rosette for the agility.
Mandy also filmed the jumping run that we had 5 faults for - here it is:
