Pepper was allowed back to training a week ago but our classes have been cancelled due to the weather, so I decided to go to the show and take it easy, just in case there were any signs of discomfort.
Our first run was agility - I ran it NFC so that I could stop and reward her frequently as I wanted to be sure that she was comfortable. She was so excited - she flew off the end of the dog walk without showing any signs of stopping at all! So, we ran it again and this time she remembered what she was supposed to do! She seemed really happy and delighted to be back doing agility.
In the jumping she was pretty wild with excitement still - I tried to go slowly but she just wanted to get on with it. She knocked a couple of poles but it was lovely to see her so keen.
In the second agility she still didn't get her contacts so I had to stop and put her back, but I put this down to lack of practice and the excitement of coming back to agility after everything she had been through.
Finally the Steeplechase - I was happy by then that she was fine so let her run it at her own pace - we managed to go clear and won the class! Lovely to come home with a rosette on our first outing after all of the worry we've been through with her!
