We arrived at Newbury showground on Friday night around 7pm and my lovely friends from Paws at Play had reserved me a camping spot so that we were all together. I set about building my pet garden and was incredibly blessed to have help from Sid which meant that we were all finished by 8.15pm in time for a couple of drinks before bed.
The show was huge with 13 rings - there were Olympia and Crufts qualifiers taking place over the weekend so all the top handlers were out in force and as a result our classes were much larger than normal.
On Saturday Pepper had a Combined G1-4 Jumping, Graded 3 & 4 Agility and Combined 3-5 Agility, and Ruby was making her KC debut in the Anysize Jumping.
Pepper was fantastic and seems to really be getting the idea of what she is supposed to be doing - I held all of the contacts in our agility runs to be on the safe side! We finished with a 10th in the 3-5 Agility, 5th in the 1-4 Jumping and a lovely clear in the graded 3 & 4 Agility. Ruby was equally fantastic going clear in her Anysize Jumping and getting her first ever KC rosette.
I was hoping that the Sunday would be equally successful but it ended up being a strange day where we had faults or E's for all of our runs, but actually I was much happier with the runs than I had been on the Saturday. Pepper seemed faster and was responding really well to me, except in the last run of the day which was very late and frankly, I had had enough by then too!! Ruby was entered in the Combined G1-4 Jumping and did a fantastic run which included getting her weave entry!
So overall it was a lovely weekend, with lovely people, some good work from both of the girls and a lot of training points to take away.
Here they are with their rosettes and some lovely pictures that the official photographer got of Pepper:
