We had a little trip to Mapledurham for the AJAXS UKA show - I took the Friday off work and then returned on Sunday (my birthday) as I wanted to run Pepper in the qualifying rounds for the Dog Central Challenge.

There are quite a few qualifiers at UKA shows which culminate in the Grand Finals in November  I'd love to qualify this year and the Dog Central Challenge is for Beginner and Novice competitors and combines the Agility and Jumping runs as designated shows.  Pepper only needs one more Agility point to go up to Senior for performance so on Friday i ran her NFC and took the opportunity to train her in the ring.

The outcome of our two days were as follows:

Novice SC II - 2nd

Sunday - Dog Central Challenge

Agility - She ran beautifully, but for some reason she missed the Seesaw - she just ran past it!!  I've got no idea why, but it was very disappointing as we would no longer be able to qualify for the final at this show! :-(  Did someone forget to tell her it was my birthday?

Jumping - She ran this well and we were placed 4th

We then ran the Small and Midi Teams competition with Sally and Taya and Emma and Star.  We were clear in both of our runs and had fantastic fun but sadly didn't win.

This was our first Dog Vegas show, and at a new venue near Birmingham.  We made a weekend of it by taking Elvis and staying at a nearby campsite which also gave us the opportunity to go and see my Mum for Mother's Day as she was staying with my Sister in Coventry.

The show was really friendly and there was loads of space in the indoor school.  It was one of those shows where I don't have anything to do for ages and then have to walk all of the courses at the same time, and then run backwards and forwards getting the right dog to run!  I really need to get a strategy for dealing with this as I panic about missing my run and end up rushing without getting my mind straight.

The results from this show were:

RUBY

Had two Jumping runs and she had a fun time, but sadly not clear in either.

PEPPER

Graded Agility - This is the run I rushed to do and made a complete mess of it as a result!  Very annoying as it was a nice course and we had the ability to go clear!

She was then clear in Combined 5-7 Agility and C1-7 Jumping, and to finish off the day she came 2nd in the Graded 5-7 Jumping - she was winning until the last dog ran!  So close to having our second win towards Grade 6!
