Just when we thought everything was going so well!
We took the final urine sample to the vet to be tested, fully expecting the all clear and to be signed off. But sadly we received a phone call to say that they had found crystals in the sample that they tested at the surgery and that it would need to be sent for a full test at the lab.
The full test confirmed that they are Struvite Crystals so she is back on the prescription Royal Cannin diet again and has to have another test in a month.
We're so disappointed - she was doing so well! But the important thing is that we manage the crystals before they are able to form more stones as we definitely don't want her to have to have another operation. Fingers crossed the diet will dissolve them!
In addition to the diet we have just invested in a Drinkwell water fountain - we want to encourage her to drink as much water as possible to help the natural process of a healthy bladder. Early signs are good as she loves drinking running water, even if it does make a bit of a mess!!
