We had our annual trip to the Kelluki show in Cranleigh last weekend! It's one of the highlights of my agility year as it was the first ever show that we camped at and it is run by some friends of mine who organise the most friendly and fun shows! Sadly my usual camping buddies couldn't make it this year but I was able to camp with Sally and Emma who were great company!
I took the Friday off work, but it was the start of our two week holiday, so ended up taking my laptop to try to finish off some work that I hadn't been able to complete on the Thursday! This made it quite difficult to concentrate but somehow we managed a fantastic performance on the Friday. I didn't run Ruby on the Friday as she had been lame the weekend before and wanted to be completely happy that she had recovered before taking her in the ring. Pepper had an amazing haul of:
1st - Champion Steeplechase I
1st - Champion Steeplechase II
1st - Champion Steeplechase III
1st - Novice Jumping
3rd - Novice Agility
It was our first show running at Champ for Steeplechase so I was delighted with these results. The results don't really tell the full story as I nearly forgot the course for the Agility and one of the Steeplechases - so to get placed after that was fantastic.
Saturday proved to be a different story altogether with many handler errors that caused us to get faults or E's, but we did manage:
Pepper:
1st - Novice Power & Speed
2nd - Novice Agility
Ruby:
3rd - Novice Steeplechase I
Ruby was really happy in all three of her runs and although we weren't clear in the Jumping she got her weave entry again so I'm hoping that she is back on track!
Sam and Becky organised another fantastic show that ran like clockwork and had lots of lovely prizes to choose from. Can't wait for next year!
