I can’t believe that 6 months has passed since Teddy joined our family! Where did that time go? It has been so lovely getting to know him and we love him more and more each day! This morning we went to our local dog friendly coffee shop, Cantine, and celebrated with a puppaccino, and then went for a lovely walk! Here’s to our next adventures!

As this latest lockdown progressed, and there was no sign of when I’d be able to get back to training, I decided to sign up for the Canine Hoopers UK - Online Good Hoopers Awards to give me something to focus on with Teddy. I couldn’t leave Pepper out, so she got signed up too! The awards are designed to guide a dog and handler through the skills required for Hoopers. You start with Foundation and progress through Bronze, Silver, Gold and onto Platinum. The Foundation course content is as follows: It has been great fun training both pups, and have to admit that Pepper somehow managed to get to G7 in agility without having independent directional commands! She has them now! Here are our final videos that we submitted for assessment last weekend: We were delighted to find that we had passed and this week received the beautiful rosettes - the first of many (hopefully) for Teddy and another for Pepper's collection: I’m so proud of them both, but particularly Teddy for receiving his first rosette.
We’re signed up for the Bronze award now so watch this space and wish us luck! Pepper has been showing signs of lameness over the last couple of weeks! She's been fine while out on a walk, but later in the day when she's been resting, she limps for a few steps when she stands up.
We've been to see the vet who couldn't find anything, so had a follow up with Hannah, our lovely physio, who has found that she has a sore left wrist. We have some exercises and another appointment for some more laser treatment so fingers crossed she'll be back to her bouncy self soon. We're walking them separately as Pepper has to stay on a lead, and it is a great opportunity to build on Teddy's recall. We've still found plenty of posing opportunities: With not much else to do at the moment I’ve been enjoying my daily walks and continue to take every opportunity to make them pose on stuff!
Gemsdale Photography had a sale today so I bought some more pictures of Pepper doing her thing at Hoopers shows:
Yay! Today we finally had snow! The pups loved it and I managed to get some pictures, but my photography skills don’t stretch to dealing with the light and have no idea how to get a picture that shows Pepper’s face!
Another week in lockdown! My dog walks our my little bit of heaven!
Today we went to a new venue - The Army Golf Club - it is a really beautiful course and in great condition. I think it is probably the least muddy place that I’ve been to recently, however young Master Ted, Dinky Doodle Dot extroadinaire excelled himself in rolling in something disgusting and poking his tongue out at me when I took a picture of him! How rude! Here is the cheeky monkey and the gorgeous Princess Perfect Paws who couldn’t quite believe the state of her brother! My little bit of joy every day is walking the pups and thank goodness for having lots of local places to go!
During the first lockdown I discovered Tweseldown Racecourse and love the variety that it offers - Teddy particularly loves the water jumps and makes a beeline for them whenever we are near! I can't help having Pepper and Teddy pose on the jumps - here are some of my favourites: I don’t really need to have Teddy registered with the Kennel Club to compete in hoopers, but I just couldn’t resist it and you never know, it might be needed one day!
So, I’m delighted to introduce you to Royal Teddylicious, who joins his sisters Royal Pepperlicious and Royal Rubylicious! |
